The Waiheke Island Historical Society is a registered, not-for-profit charity whose mission is the preservation and presentation of our island’s 800-year history. Our main activity is to operate the Museum of Waiheke and Historic Village, located at 165 Onetangi Straight on Waiheke Island.
The Museum is open from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the year, as well as public-holiday Mondays. Other opening times can be arranged for school visits and other special groups. We also hold periodic events and meetings on topics of interest to members; many of these are open to the public and free of charge. See our homepage for current details.
