The Waiheke Museum and Historic Village is located at 165 Onetangi Straight on Waiheke Island; telephone (09) 372-2970.
Email: info@waihekemuseum.org.nz, or message us on Facebook.
The Museum is open from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the year, as well as public-holiday Mondays. Other opening times can be arranged for school visits and other special groups.
By car: Follow the main road from Ostend toward Onetangi. We are on the right, across the road from the Tantalus Estate vineyards. If you reach the entrance to the Waiheke Golf Club, you’ve gone too far. There is a sign that says “Museum 300 metres” which will let you know when to slow down. The Museum carpark is at the far (eastern) end of the Museum grounds.
By bus: Take the number 50A, 50B, or 504 bus (direction Onetangi) from the Matiatia ferry terminal, Oneroa, or Ostend. Ask to be let off at the bus stop immediately outside the Museum. The double-decker tourist buses (Hop-on Hop-off Explorer) stop there too. The trip from the ferry terminal takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Hope to see you soon!
