Waiheke Choral Society 30 July 2017 Minutes

Planning for upcoming Concert - Waiheke Choral Society present Pot Pourri
Meeting was held 10:00 am at Maya and Andy’s house over breakfast.
Thanks to Maya and Andy for providing breakfast and a most enjoyable meeting.
Dates and times
Rocky Bay and Palm Beach are confirmed as venues
Rocky Bay 3rd September 2:00 pm
Palm Beach 9th September 2:00 pm
Mark has confirmed payment with both halls
It was decided we will hire 40 chairs for the choir to sit on leaving the hall chairs for the audience.
Jane to check with Libby where she gets chairs.
Susan can transport the chairs on the day.
Projector:
Anne to check it is OK to borrow the Probus projector and screen for both the concerts.
Lighting:
We need to confirm what lighting is at Palm Beach hall.
Slides for background:
Maya and Anne have started looking for slides. If anyone has any pictures they think would suit one of the songs, please do send them to Maya.
Musical accompaniment:
Caroline to accompany on piano, Janneke on clarinet and David Rawsthorne on violin.
The soloists have all now been confirmed.
Piano.
We will need to take the piano to the Palm Beach hall.
Andy to contact Richard Postle re moving the piano. Anne has a key to the hall.
Andy to check with Moira if she has the cover for the piano.
Length of show: With the interval the show should be about 90 minutes.
Ticket prices and sales
$15 dollars $12 concession $35 for family.
Sales - at the door.
Online - Mark organising a link on Choral Society website with information on paying online.
Shop the Rock- Dee to ask Shop the Rock if they would sell tickets.
By phone - Tickets will also be available through Dee on 372-3456 or choir members.
Printing: Once logo etc have been finalised we will need to print the tickets. 2 colours one for each performance.
Advertising Press releases:
Mark will write an article for the Gulf News.
Ben to design Pot Pourri logo, poster and program. When and where, Logo, Music from 5 different genres. List of composers and details of sponsors. Ticket info and price. Poster tri-foldable to program.
Dee to let ‘what's on’ columns know and seek sponsors.
Interview with one of the free papers.
Andy to organise an interview with Waiheke radio and Marketplace (Di Worthy / Liz Waters? to be contacted) preferably next week.
Xmas Concert:
Proposed date Sunday 10th December at 2:00 pm and failing that Saturday 9th.
Preferred venue St Peters church.
Andy to contact Christine Sloane to see if that would be possible.
The concert will be followed by the choir Christmas party on Saturday 16th if the hall is available. If not we might have it on the Tuesday.
