Minutes of Committee meeting held at Whittakers.

Tues. 1^st Dec. 2009.

Meeting opened at 6.15pm.

Present: Philip, Jeanne, Marion, Judy, Mark, Dee and Richard.

Apologies: Janet, Maya and Andy

Minutes: of meeting held on 17^th Nov. were taken as read, and accepted.

Matters arising: The rights for “A funny thing” have been paid. Should we not take them up, there will be the loss of deposit of $200

Correspondence: NZ Choral Federation news letter. Passed to Richard.

Finance: Balance in the bank $7,905.07

Accounts: Gulf News 2 ads. $46.86

Jeanne to be reimbursed for Christmas frippery $85.00

Messiah: Extra rehearsals cancelled, due to readiness of the choir.

Probable rehearsal at 6.0pm Friday 11^th with band.

Accompaniment: Richard to confirm number of musicians needing Fuller’s tickets.

Posters: Done

Adverts: Final ad to go in Gulf news

Donations: Box all organised

Programme: Dee has done the list. Programme to be done.

Seating: Andy and Philip to collect chairs from Whittakers and deliver them to the church for Friday 6.00pm or Saturday 4.00pm

Risers still to be measured up. Richard / Andy

Richard will check when the chairs and risers should arrive at the church.

Richard to check with Vino Vino for the after- sing gathering on Sunday Night.

Full choir formal attire, black and white with coloured tie or scarf.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum:

As only 4 turned up for audition, it was suggested that a cast list be made up, and suitable people be approached.

Richard proposed his plan for rehearsals next year consisting of

Tues 6.30-8.00 choir

8.00-10.00 Forum

Thurs 7.30-9.30 Forum

and every 2^nd Sunday

It was suggested that reviews be held 2 weeks before opening, with reviewers /audience encouraged to dress up too.

Audiences on the Saturdays to also be encouraged to dress for the occasion.

Next Year: A choral concert to be given shortly after the show, rehearsals running concurrently, to retain the voices we have acquired.

Kids only…possibly Joseph or a Christmas carol.

Following year: A big chunky well known show e.g. Fiddler or Sound of Music.

Possibly sing along style.

Christmas Do: Jeanne to advise cost of ham and hire of hall.

Request for help in decorating the hall, Jeanne will advise the time.
