No self-respecting male would be without pictures of the pink entrails and metallic sinews of his house.
We begin with the underfloor heating system. It was designed, in case you can’t tell, by a model train fanatic.
The piping, eager for the kiss of the gas-fired water heater, rears briefly up from its underworld and blends artfully into the plumbing in the walls. Note the delicate white snakes, endemic to this region, that have come in from the surrounding rocks to seek warmth.
The snakes change color as they slither along the ceiling batts: white for power, blue for data, black for video...
Telephone snakes, stereo snakes, security system snakes — all have their distinctive markings; but they all have one thing in common...
They multiply...
There is only one solution: Put up the walls and ceilings.
Once the floors go on, the house is hermetically safe.
